One of our distinguished attorneys, Thomas Howery, was just chosen to be on a list titled “Best Lawyer Under 40.” This list was compiled by D Magazine as part of a new program to honor Dallas’s up-and-coming attorneys.
In order to qualify as a nominee, a person must have a valid Texas Bar number with no disciplinary action, must do business primarily in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, must have practiced law for at least 5 years as of December 31, 2017, and must be 39 years of age or younger as of December 31, 2018. Attorneys for the list do not self-nominate, which means the attorneys on the list are nominated by their peers.
Attorneys with a valid Texas Bar number nominate 2 lawyers outside their firm and 1 lawyer within their firm. Once these votes are tallied, the list of nominees is also evaluated by a panel of esteemed lawyers, who meet with editors to evaluate the nominees. The panel consists of attorneys of varying ages and varying experience.
