Facing Marijuana Charges in Texas

Take Action with a Dallas Drug Crimes Lawyer

Were you charged with possession or sale of marijuana? Texas levels harsh penalties against those convicted of drug crimes and you could find yourself behind bars and subjected to heavy fines. If you or a loved one has been arrested for a marijuana-related offense, you need vigorous legal defense, so call our Dallas drug crimes attorney who can come to your defense and work to undermine the prosecution's case against you.

At Mathur Law Offices, P.C., your goals are our priority. Sine 1995 our firm has been fighting for our client's rights and we have since then established a track record of success in the courtroom. We have handled many drug crime cases involving marijuana and we work hard for the accused because we know what they are up against.

What do I stand to lose with a conviction?

Texas has some mandatory minimums when it comes to marijuana crimes, which means the judge may be forced to imprison you. This is even more of a reason to secure the aggressive defense of Mathur Law Offices, P.C. which can work to have your charges dropped.

Punishments for marijuana-related offense include:

  • Up to 180 days in prison and $2,000 in fines for possession of 2oz or less
  • Up to 1 year in prison and $4,000 in fines for possession of 2 to 4oz
  • 180 days at least and up to 2 years in prison with $10,000 in fines for possessing up to 5lbs
  • Up to 1 year in prison and up to $4,000 in fines for sale of 7g or less
  • At least 2 and up to 20 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines for sale to a minor
  • Up to $500 for possession of marijuana paraphernalia

Since Texas does not recognize medical marijuana, any amount of the substance is criminalized.

We Provide Stellar Defenses

While a marijuana charge may seem straightforward, there are several means of challenging the prosecution when arrested for possession or trafficking or marijuana. For simple possession charges, it must be proven that you knew about the drug's existence and you had control over it, meaning the marijuana was easily accessible to you. If our Dallas drug crime attorney can show that you did not know of the drugs existence or whereabouts, it may be very difficult to convict you of possession.

We put our reputation on the line with each case we handle because we know what is at stake. Trust our criminal defense firm, Mathur Law Offices, P.C., to work hard against your charges and towards restoring your freedom.

Call us now and we can discuss your legal option before beginning your defense!

  • Thank you so much for your hard work and effort getting me out from the jail time and legal mess. You are like God to me for giving me new life. Thank you so much!
